The Huawei MateBook 13 2020 and MateBook 14 2020 combine a Ryzen 5 4600H or Ryzen 7 4800H with 2K and 3:2 aspect ratio displays

Huawei has unveiled the MateBook 13 2020 and MateBook 14 2020, its latest Renoir-powered laptops of 2020. Earlier this year, the Chinese company refreshed its MateBook D range with Ryzen 4000U series APUs, but it has brought the more powerful H-series to the MateBook 13 2020 and MateBook 14 2020.

The two devices are available with either the Ryzen 5 4600H or Ryzen 7 4800H, which are both 45 W APUs that support Simultaneous Multithreading (SMT). All SKUs come with 16 GB of RAM and a 512 GB SSD, but there is also a touchscreen option with the Ryzen 7 4800H editions.

Additionally, the MateBook 13 2020 has a 42 Wh battery, which is considerably smaller than the 56 Wh capacity of the MateBook 14 2020. The former also weighs 1.3 kg and is 14.9 mm thick, while the latter tips the scales at 1.49 kg and is 15.9 mm thick.

Both devices have 2K IPS panels with 3:2 aspect ratios. A webcam does not hinder the 88% screen-to-body ratio screen as Huawei continues to embed this within the keyboard deck. Both devices have a USB Type-C port for charging, along with a USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A port for data transfer and a 3.5 mm jack. However, the MateBook 14 2020 also has a second Type-A port and a full-sized HDMI port.

It is unclear whether Huawei will release the MateBook 13 2020 and MateBook 14 2020 globally. However, they will probably be available from third-party resellers soon. The two laptops are priced as follows in China:
