The Black Shark 4S is a refreshed 2021 Android gaming smartphone flagship set to launch soon
2021 is not your average year for tech; nevertheless, those who make Android gaming phones are keeping normal service up through revised versions of their latest flagships with slightly upgraded features for the second half of the year. Now, Black Shark has answered its rival RedMagic with a successor for the 3S from late 2020.
The existing Black Shark 4 and 4 Pro represent a significant shift in the brand's design, from the extreme, elaborate angular rear panels of the past to those that recall this trend with light-shifting effects. Nevertheless, they are the first of their line to offer the Snapdragon 888 SoC in the Pro variant, with an inaugural 870 in the vanilla variant.
On that note, Xiaomi has yet to drop concrete hints on the Black Shark 4S' "evolved" specs; therefore, it's not even clear if it will bring the series' 120W charging speed back yet. Nevertheless, its new launch teasers have led to speculation that the 4S is the brand's previously-rumored 888+ device. Regardless, we may have to wait until October 13, 2021 to find out for sure.
