Tesla holiday update automates blind spot cameras and adds Sonic the Hedgehog to the infotainment system
Tesla is starting to roll out its annual holiday software update, as reported by Teslascope. The update, named 2021.44.25, contains both fun and practical features, including an improvement to the vehicle's blind spot cameras and the addition of Sonic the Hedgehog to the arcade.
The blind spot camera update allows the live camera view from the side of the car to automatically appear whenever the driver starts to signal left or right. This tool aims to make manoeuvres safer, such as changing lanes on the highways.
Other practical tools include the ability to add multiple stops to a journey and to personalise your menu bar by adding your favourite apps. Also, you can use Simplified Controls in the Tesla infotainment system to streamline the display to the most common controls, which should ease navigation of the system.
Alongside these features, the latest software update lets you watch TikTok videos in the Tesla Theater, plus the Tesla Arcade has received upgrades, with games such as Sonic the Hedgehog and Sudoku. These games are playable by passengers while the vehicle is moving, but the driver can only play when your car is parked.
Another new trick is Light Show, which enables your Tesla vehicle to 'dance' in time to a light sequence. This feature was already possible in the Model X, but it is now being rolled out to the other models. The update is currently being shared with employees only. Tesla customers expect to receive the update to their cars in the lead up to Christmas.
