Tesla gifts free supercharging to customers travelling before Christmas on certain routes
If you own a Tesla EV and are planning to make a pre-Christmas trip, you can charge your car for free at 75 locations around the U.S. Starting December 23, 2021, users can charge their vehicles between 7 PM and 10 AM. Essentially, Tesla is encouraging you to travel before Christmas and during off-peak hours to ease traffic congestion.
Most of the free charging stations are clustered around California, the state with the most Tesla owners. Arizona, Pennsylvania, Colorado, Florida, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, and Utah will also receive free-of-cost supercharging. However, stations in Pennsylvania offer marginally slower charging than the rest.
Delays at Tesla Superchargers are pretty common in states like California. So, it is great to see Tesla offering an incentive to keep users off the roads at peak hours, reducing congestion.
