Tesla Cybertruck outlet switch panel controls and Beast mode revealed along with official wheel sizes and camping topper
Tesla's Cybertruck already has several nifty features that pickup owners have come to appreciate, such as the automatic liftgate and tonneau cover which can be controlled via the cabin interface. There are now a few more standard truck fare features tipped, like the ability to plug switch panels for custom power distribution which can also be controlled from the cabin interface without the need to run pesky cables, under a setting dubbed "Outlets and Mods."
Next to it are reportedly a few more options in that vein, such as "Dynamics" or "Towing and Hauling," indicating that the "Outlets and Mods" feature refers to added truck bed outlet control, while the tow or haul menu would have the brakes control of a trailer, all pretty standard truck fare. The big question now remains the amount and power output of the outlets in the frunk, but it won't take long to know those as Elon Musk confirmed that deliveries start tomorrow when the Cybertruck specs will also be revealed.
Cybertruck specs
Several key Cybertruck specs, however, already got confirmed by a deep dive into the new Tesla app 4.27.3 version update.
For starters, there will be two Cybertruck tire sizes, one 18-inch Standard Wheel and a 20-inch Premium Wheel sets - which will reportedly be present as an upgrade option.
Tesla is also listing a camper shell or a Cybertruck topper it calls the BaseCamp and the tent accessory will apparently also be sold alongside an available mattress option. Mum's the word on the Cybertruck BaseCamp tent and camping mattress accessory price, but there's not a long way to go before those are revealed.
Last but not least, the code also refers to and even depicts a powerful Cybertruck Beast Mode which Elon Musk teased before Joe Rogan not long ago, and which can take Tesla's first electric pickup from 0-60 mph in under 3 seconds.
Tesla has been promising those insane Cybertruck acceleration specs for a good while now, but it remains to be seen if they are for the cheaper dual-motor launch trim, or for the tri-motor Performance version that will reportedly come at a later date.
