As per a recent report, Tencent studios are working on new games that resemble this year’s hit, Palword. The upcoming games will combine elements of open-world exploration, crafting, survival, and pet nurturing.

Tencent, the maker behind some of the most popular mobile games like PUBG Mobile, COD: Mobile, Honor of Kings, and more, has plans to bring Palworld-type games to mobile.

As per a Bloomberg report credited to anonymous sources, Timi and Lightspeed, which are two of the most successful studios of Tencent, are working on these Palword-like games. The new games will have a combination of open-world exploration, survival, crafting, and pet-nurturing.

Currently, Timi Studios’ Honor of Kings and Lightspeed’s Peacekeeper Elite are the top-selling games. The report mentioned that Tencent’s subsidiaries are working on multiple projects, so the best product will make the final cut. As these two best-selling were a result of competition within the company, Tencent is looking to mimic that level of internal competition and deliver another massive hit.

Upon its release, Palword quickly went viral and amassed massive downloads in a very short time. Last month, Pocketpair’s game surpassed 25 million downloads across all platforms, and it is still growing.

At the moment, Palword is available to play on PC, Xbox Series X and S, Steam Deck (curr. $416.00 on Amazon), Asus ROG Ally, and Lenovo Legion Go. There has been no official news on whether the game will be released on PS5, PS4, and Nintendo Switch.
