The TP-Link Tapo RV50 Pro Omni Robot Vacuum and Mop is now available in some European countries. This model currently sits at the top of the brand’s range of robotic vacuuming solutions, though it is expected to sit below the Tapo RV70 Pro Ultra when this launches.
Tapo’s RV50 appears to have moderate suction power, offering up to 15,000 Pa. The central brush is said to cut away tangled hair for improved cleaning, and there is a secondary side brush for enhanced floor coverage. This model features two rotating mop heads, spinning 180 times per minute and applying 8N downward pressure. Plus, the extending mopping arm helps the robot to reach along the edges and into the corners of each room.
At the “advanced self-cleaning docking station”, the mops can be completely removed before the robot cleans a carpet, to ensure the fabric does not get wet. Plus, after a mopping job, the dock will automatically wash the mop heads with 60°C (140°F) hot water and dry them with 50°C (122°F) hot air to ensure they are ready for next time. The robot uses lasers to navigate your home while detecting and avoiding obstacles, and it is equipped with a 5,200 mAh battery. On top of this, in the Tapo app, you can set up no-go zones, as well as create schedules and remotely start the robot. It is also worth noting that this device is Matter compatible, meaning it will integrate with a range of smart home ecosystems.
