Now that the Switch 2 has been officially unveiled, speculation has centered on a possible release date. The dates for planned hands-on events at least indicate when the new Nintendo console can be expected to be released at the earliest.

The successor to the Nintendo Switch (available for $295 on Amazon) has finally been revealed, but its release date remains uncertain. Earlier speculation suggested a March 2025 launch, but this now seems unlikely as the Nintendo Direct presentation for the Switch 2 is set for April 2.

Nintendo is offering fans worldwide the chance to experience the Switch 2 ahead of its official release through a series of hands-on events. These events, part of the "Nintendo Switch 2 Experience" tour, are scheduled as follows:

Europe

  • Paris - (April 4 to 6, 2025)
  • London - (April 11 to 13, 2025)
  • Milan - (April 25 to 27, 2025)
  • Berlin - (April 25 to 27, 2025)
  • Madrid - (May 9 to 11, 2025)
  • Amsterdam - (May 9 to 11, 2025)

North America

  • New York - (April 4 to 6, 2025)
  • Los Angeles - (April 11 to 13, 2025)
  • Dallas - (April 25 to 27, 2025)
  • Toronto - (April 25 to 27, 2025)

Australia

  • Melbourne - (May 10 to 11, 2025)

Asia

  • Tokyo - (April 26 to 27, 2025)
  • Seoul - (May 31 to June 1, 2025)
  • Hong Kong - (not known)
  • Taipei - (not known)

Switch 2 release not before June 2025

It seems unlikely that Nintendo will launch the Switch 2 before all scheduled hands-on events are completed. With the last confirmed date set for May 31 to June 1, the console’s release is expected no earlier than June 2025. However, since the dates for the Hong Kong and Taipei events have yet to be announced, a further delay cannot be ruled out.
