After reporting RTX 4060 Ti’s hardware specifications last month, kopite7kimi is back with a revised power target for the card. The leaker now maintains that the midrange RTX 4060 Ti will have a much lower TDP than previously assumed. The new TDP figure is even lower than the RTX 3060 Ti which may come as a surprise to some.

The GeForce RTX 4060 Ti could disappoint users in many aspects when it comes to hardware specifications. For instance, rumor has it that RTX 4060 Ti will have a bus that could be 50% narrower than the RTX 3060 Ti. Similarly, the Lovelace board may also have a considerably reduced 228 GB/s bandwidth. But, if the latest report from leaker kopite7kimi is accurate, the RTX 4060 Ti will reportedly delight gamers who prioritize lower power consumption.

Per kopite7kimi, the RTX 4060 Ti will have a 160 W TDP which is a massive 60 W lower than the leaker’s previous claim of 220 W. As a reference, the RTX 3060 Ti is rated for 200 W, 40 W more than the purported RTX 4060 Ti TDP. In other words, the RTX 4060 Ti could be substantially less power-hungry than its predecessor as we know Nvidia’s ADA Lovelace architecture is excellent in terms of performance/watt. kopite7kimi mentions no other spec updates at the time of writing.

There have been murmurs regarding Nvidia reportedly pushing the power envelope of the RTX 4070 down to 200 W from 250 W. Combine this with kopite7kimi’s revised TDP prediction for the RTX 4060 Ti and one can make the case that Nvidia might be taking reduced power consumption more seriously this gen.

Finally, take the TDP information with a grain of salt, as Nvidia has yet to reveal the specs and release date information of the RTX 4060 Ti.
