Deal | SteelSeries Apex Pro keyboard with Rapid Trigger functionality drops to lowest price yet on Amazon
While it originally launched at US$199.99, the SteelSeries Apex Pro can now be had for just US$132.30 (34% off) on Amazon. The full-size mechanical keyboard is part of the company's flagship "Pro" lineup and comes packed with gaming features.
Undoubtedly, the stars of the show are the OmniPoint 2.0 switches. These use Hall effect sensors to measure precisely how far down each key is pressed, instead of having just 'on' and 'off' states like traditional keyboard switches.
This analog functionality brings a number of advantages for gamers, including an adjustable actuation point (between 0.1 and 4.0 mm) and assigning two actions to a single key (for instance, walking while a key is pressed partially and running when it's bottomed out).
A recent firmware update even brought Rapid Trigger functionality to the SteelSeries Apex Pro. It allows for a keypress to stop registering as soon as the user lifts their finger just 0.1 mm instead of having a fixed reset point. This can enable more precise strafing in FPS titles, faster tapping in rhythm-based games like Osu!, and more.
Other noteworthy features of the keyboard include per-key RGB lighting, a USB-A passthrough port, a magnetic wrist rest, and an integrated OLED display that allows users to adjust settings and change profiles on the fly.
