Steam: New roguelite-RPG lands with "Very Positive" reviews and launch discount

Smart Raven Studio and publisher Kwalee have launched Rune Dice across PC, alongside PlayStation 5 (curr. $595 on Amazon), Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch. The game released on May 19, 2026, and is priced at $12.74, which includes a 15% launch discount promotion currently active on Steam.
Rune Dice is a physics-based roguelite deckbuilder in which players launch dice across tactical arenas. Matching dice fuse together to create chain reactions and escalating combos. The game has eight distinct hero classes — including a poison-spreading Rogue, a lightning-wielding Mage, and a tank-like Warrior — each with multiple heroes carrying different starting loadouts. Runs are further shaped by a collection of relics, runes, and upgradable dice synergies. That is further complemented by procedurally generated maps and risk-reward altar mechanics that let players gamble their dice for upgrades. It sounds complex, but going by the reviews, it's a mechanic that seems to have hit it off with players.
Steam Deck support is confirmed as Playable, and the game includes full controller support alongside accessibility features such as adjustable difficulty, save-anytime functionality, and playable-at-your-own-pace design, which makes it perfect for handheld sessions. The game supports 11 languages at launch including English, Japanese, Korean, and Simplified Chinese.
The free demo is a better metric for feedback here. Since it came out on November 20, 2025, it has held a "Very Positive" rating across 367 user reviews, with 93% positive overall and 94% positive in the last 30 days. The full game has already accumulated nearly 100 reviews at 91% positive as of writing. Pre-launch wishlist tracking shows approximately 61,230 wishlists for Rune Dice on Steam.
Fans of Slay the Spire, Dicey Dungeons, or Balatro will find a lot of familiar elements here — the roguelite loop of unlocking new heroes and builds run-to-run follows the same rhythm that made those titles sticky (and extremely popular). If you want to try out the game before you drop $12.74 on it, there's always the aforementioned demo.
