Dune: Spice Wars is a 4X real-time strategy game by Shiro Games — the same studio responsible for the smash hit Northgard. Spice Wars, as anyone familiar with Dune might have guessed, takes place on the desert planet of Arrakis. Players choose from a line-up of Dune characters and lead their faction into battle for dominion over the galaxy's most valuable resource.
Players are tasked with exploring the harsh planet, finding resources, facing off against the planet's giant monsters, and surviving gruelling storms. The game offers a number of routes to victory, ranging from direct head-on assault to more subtle political scheming.

Anno 1800 is a quintessential city-builder RTS for experienced players on the hunt for a challenging gaming experience. Players must build and maintain a colony located in an island city, eventually venturing off into the great beyond in search of additional resources.
Anno 1800 takes place during the Industrial Revolution, where efficiency and expansion were key. Thus, shrewd resource management, urban planning, and expansion are crucial to success, but the game also gives players a lot of freedom when it comes to how they construct and run their island colony.
The development from pre-industrial colony to technological powerhouse doesn't happen in a vacuum, either. As players expand beyond their home shores, they will encounter other civilisations to dominate or form strategic allegiances with.

3. Shadow Tactics: Aiko's Choice - 70% off
Shadow Tactics: Aiko's Choice is a spin-off of the highly-rated Shadow Tactics: Blade of the Shogun that centres around the story of Aiko and her band of assassin accomplices as they hunt down enemies from Aiko's past.
Players lead the band of five heroes through Japan during the Edo period, skulking from village to village to hunt down their enemies in stealth RTS fashion. Each of the five assassins available to players is as deadly as the next, although they all have unique skill sets that will come in handy, depending on the scenario.
Shadow Tactics: Aiko's Choice is an ideal game for players looking to get into the RTS genre but don't want the grandiose battles of the Warhammer 40,000 or Stellaris universes.

Northgard takes the resource management, sense of adventure, and tense battles from the Age of Empires franchise and drapes it in a gorgeous Norse aesthetic. This RTS sees a Viking clan land on a new continent, eager to set up camp and expand their reach into the new land full of enemies both natural and supernatural.
While players are mostly faced with the typical RTS game mechanics, like hostile weather, enemy clans, and balancing growth and resources, there are also a number of unique game modes that mix in a healthy dose of Norse mythology.
Northgard's settlement size limits and NPC AI also encourages players to explore and expand their colony to new regions, rather than forcing them to put all their attention towards managing established populations and settlements.
