Starlink Mini price drops to lowest ever with cheap payment plan

SpaceX is now letting Starlink Roaming plan subscribers pay for their Mini dish in installments for the first time.

Previously, the Mini dish was only available at full price, which started at the hefty $599 at launch and then gradually dropped way down for a direct purchase, including on Amazon where it is frequently discounted.

At one point, the Starlink Mini dish was even made available for free to Residential Max plan subscribers with the hope this would hook them to also pay for a Roaming plan when they needed to take their satellite Internet with them on the go.

While SpaceX ditched the free Starlink Mini offer, the dish can be ordered at a rather low price on its website. If the two Benjamins that Starlink charges for the Mini kit is too much for someone, SpaceX has now come up with a new plan to push sales, an installment plan.

Folks needing satellite Internet on the go might be tempted to use the new Standard V5 dish that shrunk in size by a third compared to its predecessor. It is still not widely available, though, and not as portable as the Starlink Mini.

That might be why SpaceX is now selling the Starlink Mini dish on an installment plan that costs $16/month for 12 months. That is $192 at the end of the period and the lowest ever official price for a Starlink Mini dish.

The reason why SpaceX is doing a payment plan for the Starlink Mini might be the upcoming Mini 2 dish that would purportedly feature its own integrated battery and a standard USB-C charging port. That would be a whole other level of independence considering that customers would no longer need to lug around external batteries for their Starlink Mini. In any case, inventory clearing or not, the Mini dish just became more easily accessible for anyone who would like to give it a go for $16/month.
