Sony has been said to have new cameras to introduce before the first quarter of 2023 is out, and it now seems that the ZV-E1 will be at least one of them.
As the name suggests, it is currently being billed as a new camera for content creators with an E-mount lens; however, it may also pack some advantages over its supposed E10 predecessor. It is, for example, tipped to incorporate the same sensor as the premium-grade a7s III, and may look more like it too, (with "some FX3 elements") thanks to a design overhaul since the ZV-1F.
It is, for example, now depicted as having sprouted a new top-mounted Menu button, while its photo/video/S&Q mode button has become a slider. Internally, the "ZV-E1" is believed to have picked up the new AI from the a7r V, as well as an improved version of this new mirrorless unit's auto-focus (AF). Despite these potential selling points, the upcoming camera is also rumored to have a tendency to overheat.
All in all, this "new ZV" is seemingly being painted as a potentially more premium take on the 'Sony vlogging camera', albeit one that may compromise on the portable edge of its predecessors for the sake of more features; it is even said to have a thicker grip than the ZV-1 at this stage. We may get the chance to find out for sure on its rumored March 29, 2023 debut.
