Sony Xperia X Performance tops DxOMark camera benchmarks
DxOMark has put the Sony Xperia X Performance smartphone camera to the test and came out quite impressed. According to the French software company who regularly tests cameras and image quality, the flagship Sony smartphone is on par with the cameras found on the HTC 10 and Samsung Galaxy S7. The company has awarded it 88 points out of 100 to be one of the best for a smartphone.
Aside from its fantastic image quality, the Xperia X Performance is also notable for its very fast and accurate auto-focus. The auto-focus works well even for complicated scenes and in both light and dark conditions with good predictive exposure and dynamic range. The smartphone boasts OIS (optical image stabilization) and is an excellent video recorder according to DxOMark.
Points were deducted for its auto HDR mode, white balance, and Flash as they would not always work reliably or consistently. Additionally, outdoor images would exhibit slight chromatic aberrations and recorded videos - while very detailed - would stutter when panning.
