Reviews for the Sony Vaio VGN-AW11XU/Q
Source: Tech Advisor

For professional photographers working on location, the usual weapon of choice to accompany a digital SLR camera is a lightweight laptop, able to give quick visual feedback on work in progress. Unfortunately, most laptops suffer from relatively small screens and poor colour fidelity. The Sony VAIO VGN-AW11XU is a triumph in build and display quality – and in sheer performance. This comes at a high purchase price, yet there is little to touch it if you need a luggable computer with dependable image reproduction and desktop-class computing power.

NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT: Successor of the 8600M GT and because of the smaller 65nm production process the card is higher clocked (and therefore faster) with the same current consumption.Furthermore, it features an improved video processor (VP3) and HybridPower to save current (in conjunction with the 9100M G).
Non demanding games should be playable with these graphics cards.

Intel Core 2 Duo: This is the Core Duo and Core Solo successor with a longer pipeline and 5-20% more speed without more power consumption. As an addition to the Core Duo design there exists a fourth decoder, an amplified SSE-unit and an additional arithmetical logical unit (ALU).
The Core 2 Duo for laptops is identical to the desktop Core 2 Duo processors but the notebook-processors work with lower voltages (0.95 to 1188 Volt) and a lower Frontside bus clock (1066 vs 667 MHz). The performance of equally clocked notebooks is 20-25% lower than Desktop PCs because of the lower Frontside bus clock and the slower hard disks.
T9600:
High-end dual core CPU and similar to the Core 2 Duo P9700 but with a higher power consumption (35 W versus 28 W). Should be sufficient for all games of 2009.

This is a very large display size for laptops on a desk without mobile use.
» To find out how fine a display is, see our DPI List.4 kg:
In former years, this weight was representative for laptops with a 14-16 inch display-diagonal. Nowadays, 17 inch laptops weigh less than that.

80%: This rating is not convincing. The laptop is evaluated below average, this is not really a recommendation for purchase.
