There have been rumors to the effect that Realme may update its X2 series of smartphones soon. Now, a new device that this OEM has had approved for sale in various regions is thought to be one of them. This possible X3 has a 6.57-inch display and a 4100mAh battery.

The rumor mill has yielded indcations that Realme will produce an upgrade for its X smartphone line soon. This generation is currently thought to consist of the X3 and X3 Zoom. In terms of the latter, it seems that it will have up to 12GB of RAM and, in an interesting twist, will be powered by the Snapdragon 855+ processor.

Therefore, it may be a premium mid-range device for 2020, although its leaks have yet to exhibit any advanced camera attributes that may make sense of its variant name.

As to the vanilla X3, it appears it will be an upper mid-tier phone as well, if in a different respect. Some official MIIT, 3C and NBTC telecomms certifications recently obtained by Realme indicate that the upcoming phone in question, the RMX2142, has 5G connectivity. It is currently believed that this model number pertains to the X3.

Should this be the case, the X2's successor has a limited choice of SoC (which has yet to be revealed as its regulatory approvals are at very preliminary stages). This processor is most likely to be the Exynos 980 or of the Snapdragon 765 series.
