Vivo's sub-brand iQOO is reportedly working on a gaming smartphone that will feature Qualcomm's yet-to-be-announced Snapdragon 865 Plus SoC. The phone will come with a 6.5-inch 90Hz AMOLED panel, a 4,500mAh battery that can be charged in 30 minutes, and more. Prices are expected to start at CNY 3998 ($565) for the entry-level version.

An industry insider stated earlier this year Qualcomm might not release the Snapdragon 865 Plus. However, the SoC has allegedly made an appearance on AnTuTu and has been mentioned by prolific leaker Digital Chat Station in one of his Weibo posts. A new leak suggests that Vivo-owned iQOO's upcoming iQOO 3 Pro will reportedly come with the Snapdragon 865 Plus.

The leaker further adds that the upcoming iQOO 3 Pro will come with a 6.5-inch 90Hz AMOLED panel with 180Hz touch sensitivity. Some of the other features include a triple-camera setup with a 48MP Sony IMX568 sensor at the helm, a 4,500mAh battery that can be fully charged in 30 minutes, LPDDR5 RAM, UFS 3.1 storage, and advanced cooling solutions. It will also come with an aluminum chassis sandwiched between two layers of Corning Gorilla Glass 5.

The specs mentioned above indicate that the iQOO 3 Pro will be marketed as a gaming smartphone. Prices will reportedly start at CNY 3998 ($565) for the base variant with 8GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. However, it is unclear as to when iQOO will release the iQOO 3 Pro. Qualcomm is billed to unveil a new 5G-ready Snapdragon 775 SoC soon. The company could use that opportunity to reveal the Snapdragon 865 Plus too.
