Physical copies of Konami’s highly anticipated Silent Hill f have begun surfacing in the wild just days before its official September 25, 2025, release.
A ResetEra user known as Rod issued an urgent warning on September 20, posting images of an unboxing that revealed Silent Hill f’s Standard Edition packaging with a reversible cover featuring alternative artwork on the inside.
Rod posted: “As of September 20th, already physical copies in the wild - extra careful for incoming spoilers.” The copies circulating include standard editions of the PS5 version of the game with alternative artwork designs.
As the game breaches street date, fans will have to be careful and brace themselves for any unwarranted spoilers that will surface on the internet as they scroll. Some fans will only have to wait two days as the Deluxe Edition unlocks digitally on September 23, giving them two days of Early Access in select regions.
Box art aside, some users on the internet, like Reddit user MaximillanZammit, posted on the Silent Hill subreddit and shared their own accounts of diving into the game ahead of release, stating, “I played for nearly an hour… tense combat and an effective jumpscare.”
Other users have also flaunted their premature hauls from retailers worldwide. To make matters worse, clips and streams of Silent Hill f are already surfacing on YouTube and X, prompting users to mute search terms and message boards to prevent being spoiled before trying out the game themselves.
Silent Hill f has been described as a psychological horror experience with some Soulslike elements, with a stamina meter, counters, dodges, and breakable weapons. However, producer Motoi Okamoto has pushed back on the label in a recent interview and stated:
“Modern players will see a stamina meter, a dodge, and they’re like, ‘Okay, it’s a soulslike.’ But to be very honest, a lot of these things we actually pulled from classic Silent Hill titles. Look at Silent Hill 4 - there’s a charge meter for your attacks, kind of like our Focus meter. And even for Silent Hill 3, there’s a stamina meter. You see it later on.”
With pre-loads already kicking off for the Deluxe and Standard Editions soon, the clock is ticking as Silent Hill fans stay wary of leaks and fortify their feeds against the encroaching fog.
