Segway has released the Ninebot F3 electric scooter filled with features for safe navigation across cities. The e-scooter has an MSRP of $699.99 and is available for purchase at the Segway store on Amazon.
The Ninebot F3 is powered by a 1,000-watt, high-torque brushless motor capable of climbing hills with a 20% slope maximum. The 477 Wh battery is supposed to provide 25 miles (40 km) of range at 20 mph (32 kph) of 44 miles (64 km) of range at 9 mph (14 kph).
Route directions are displayed on the colorful LCD display, which also notifies riders of incoming calls and displays current e-scooter speed and battery status. Users can automatically unlock the F3 using their smartphones or locate it using the Apple Find My feature on Apple smartphones.
The Segway accepts riders weighing up to 265 lbs. (120 kg). City cobblestones and roadway dips are absorbed by large 10-inch self-sealing tires mounted on front hydraulic and rear elastomer shock absorbers.
The Ninebot F3 comes with many safety features. The electronic Traction Control System (TCS) provides additional safety against slips and falls, while the e-scooter stops using front disc and rear electronic brakes. A 6-watt headlamp lights the road ahead up to 115 ft. (35 m) at night, and the turn signals and emergency flashers can be activated from the handlebar-mounted controls.
