Seeed Studio brings Bluetooth, Ethernet and Wi-Fi to the BeagleBone Green Gateway
Seeed Studio and BeagleBoard have released a new single-board computer (SBC), the BeagleBone Green Gateway. Building on the BeagleBone Black, Green and Green Wireless, the Green Gateway supports Bluetooth 4.1 Low Energy (BLE), 10/100 MBit Ethernet and 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi.
The Green Gateway is based on a Sitara AM3358 Arm Cortex-A8 processor that is capable of running at up to 1.0 GHz. The chip also integrates two 32-bit Programmable Realtime Units (PRUs) running at 200 MHz. According to Seeed Studio, the processor supports NEON floating-point and a 3D graphics accelerator. There is also 4 KB of EEPROM on board along with 512 MB of DDR3 RAM and 4 GB of eMMC flash storage.
Additionally, the Green Gateway has two USB 2.0 host ports, two Grove connectors and two GPIO headers that have 46-pins each. The 89.0 x 54.6 x 19.6 SBC is available to order now for US$59.90 and will begin shipping on June 24. Seeed Studio has published a wiki for configuring the Green Gateway, too.
