Sanwa Supply has launched the MA-PG521GB multi-touch, Bluetooth touchpad. Users who prefer using touchpads over mice can now control their computers with a slim touchpad they can place anywhere on their desks. An external touchpad can also keep laptops pristine for higher resale values.

For current laptop users, an external touchpad along with a nice external keyboard like this one on Amazon can provide better comfort working from home, especially when the laptop is docked to multiple external monitors. Also, using an external touchpad and keyboard completely eliminates ugly, palm rest staining that reduces the resale value of laptops like the Microsoft Surface Pro with Alcantara surrounding the keyboard and touchpad.

The Sanwa MA-PG521GB is compatible with PCs running Windows 10 and 11. The 6-inch touchpad has all the common features expected of modern touchpads, including 14 multi-touch Windows gestures from drag and drop to switching virtual desktops. Additionally, the touchpad has a vibrating mode for enhanced click feedback.

A rechargeable battery provides an average runtime of sixty 8-hour days under normal use, with a minimum runtime of 20 hours under non-stop touch input. The lithium polymer battery recharges over USB-C in 2 hours, and the touchpad can be used during charging.

Charging or not, the touchpad connects to computers over Bluetooth 5.0 with an operating range of 6.6 to 32.8 feet (2 to 10 m), which varies depending on whether the desk surface is magnetic (metal) or not (wood, plastic). The touchpad measures 5.4 x 4.2 x 0.43 inches (138.8 x 106.8 x 11.1 mm) and 4.4 ounces (125 g). The MA-PG521GB touchpad is available for 12,100 yen (~$75) from Sanwa Supply.
