Satechi presents mechanical keyboard with low profile switches, lighting, Bluetooth and USB-C
The latest mechanical keyboard from Satechi uses tactile Low Profile Brown switches, which are intended to provide a comfortable typing experience. Together with the aluminum housing and the keycaps, which are partly white and partly grey, the keyboard comes in a simple look that is reminiscent of the Apple Magic Keyboard.
The keyboard is aimed specifically at Mac users, but Satechi also supplies suitable key caps to convert the keyboard for use with Windows, for which the Windows key and two Alt keys need to be replaced. Satechi does not provide any information on the material of the keycaps, but in view of the fact that the symbols for the white backlighting have been omitted, it is likely to be ABS instead of PBT.
Satechi's mechanical keyboard can be connected to a PC or Mac either via a USB-C cable, via the included 2.4 GHz USB transmitter or via Bluetooth, making it suitable for use on the go. According to Satechi, a battery life of 16.5 hours is possible with the backlight activated, and a battery life of two months without the backlight.
