Samsung has released the Galaxy S22 series globally and will start shipping pre-orders before the end of the month. However, its websites provide little clarity about what SoC people should expect to receive when buying the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+ or the Galaxy S22 Ultra. Instead, Samsung describes the trio as having a '4nm chip', which could apply to either the Exynos 2200 or the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.
According to Android Authority, it has been able to confirm that the following countries will receive Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 versions of the Galaxy S22 series:
- Australia
- Canada
- India
- South Africa
- South Korea
- UAE
- US
Additionally, Samsung will offer Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 models in China and Japan. Previously, it had been believed that Samsung would launch Exynos 2200 models in the whole of Africa and the Middle East, but that is no longer the case. By contrast, Samsung will sell Exynos 2200 variants in the UK and the Eurozone; 28 countries in other words.
