It is looking increasingly like Samsung will release a second version of its Galaxy Z Flip alongside the Note 20 series and Fold 2 this year. However, some benchmarking results suggest that there will not be much new tech in this clamshell foldable - in fact, it may just be the original Z Flip all over again, just with 5G and the Snapdragon 865 SoC this time.
Some new leaks reveal that it will also have Bluetooth 5.0 and NFC, as before. It is now certified to use both, thanks to official documentation that also inadvertently confirms its product name in some cases.
The Bluetooth SIG listings in question also reveal quite a number of variants for the phone. They are SM-F707B; SM-F707N; SM-F707W; SM-F707U; SM-F707U1; SM-F707U_SPR and SM-F7070.
All of these model numbers are associated with the name Galaxy Z Flip 5G - with the exception of one (SM-F707B), which, oddly, goes by "Bloom-X ALL NRM" instead. Another variant, the SM-F707U, is the one spotted on the NFC certification website. Therefore, it now seems the refreshed clamshell phone is indeed all ready to launch, and probably in multiple markets to boot.
