Samsung is set to announce the launch of the S8 Lite in the coming weeks. The device is expected to be exclusive to the Chinese market, and will offer a sub-premium package for those unwilling to shell out the big bucks for the company's S9 flagships.
According to new information, the S8 Lite will be unveiled on May 21 in China. It's supposedly aimed at earning Samsung some much-needed market share in the Chinese smartphone market, as the South Korean giants currently enjoy a paltry sub-1% market share—entirely unbefitting of their position as the biggest smartphone brand in the world.
The S8 Lite will be powered by a Snapdragon 660 and will feature a 5.7-inch FHD+ display. Going by the renders of the device, it will feature a single rear camera—no surprise considering the fact that even the S9 has just one rear sensor. It also looks a lot like the device it's named after, the Galaxy S8. The fingerprint sensor, for example, is placed beside the rear camera.
