Samsung Galaxy S Light Luxury (S8 Lite) now official in China
The so-called "Samsung Galaxy S8 Lite" is now official in China, and it will apparently remain locally available as the Galaxy S Light Luxury. Obviously, it might reach other markets using a different name, but there is no official confirmation for this yet.
With a design similar to the Galaxy S8 flagship, the Samsung Galaxy S Light Luxury has the following highlights: Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor, 5.8-inch Infinity Display with 2,220 x 1,080 pixels, 4 GB RAM, 64 GB internal storage, 8 MP selfie shooter, 16 MP main camera with f/1.7 aperture, 3,000 mAh battery, Android 8.0 Oreo.
In addition to the above, the Galaxy S Light also features a full array of authentication methods: fingerprint reader, facial recognition, as well as an iris scanner. To further sweeten the deal, Samsung also added IP68 water resistance, wireless charging, Samsung Pay support, and a dedicated Bixby button.
The only two color choices available for the Samsung Galaxy S Light Luxury are Burgundy Red and Midnight Black. The handset will hit the Chinese market on June 1 for the equivalent of US$626, but it can be pre-ordered for around US$578 until then. Even this way, if you are looking for the best value within this price range, you're much better off with the OnePlus 6, but I am sure some might consider other choices. If you think there's a better deal around, let us know in the comments.
