The design of Samsung's next big flagship phone, the Galaxy S22 Ultra, has been leaked thanks to a dummy unit. The unit shows a phone that looks like a Galaxy Note 20 Ultra successor. The phone will have a curved screen, p-shaped camera housing, power and volume keys on the right side, and the S-pen slot.
A dummy unit of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra has leaked. The unit comes to us thanks to xleaks7 and CoverPigtou showing a phone design reminiscent of the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra with curved sides and a overall boxy look. The power button and the volume keys are located on the right side, leaving the left side uninterrupted.
The strangest thing about the dummy unit is the design of the camera housing. Instead of the simple vertical camera housing of the Galaxy S21 series, the S22 Ultra will have a p-shaped camera module on the back. While the module looks odd in the dummy unit, it may give us a hint about the actual camera hardware. We may be looking at four cameras with bigger sensors than the smaller Galaxy S22 and S22 Plus models.
Finally, the leak also points to the presence of the S-pen slot on the Galaxy S22 Ultra. If this is true, then rumors of Samsung phasing out their Galaxy Note line in favor of the Galaxy Ultra phones may be true.
Thankfully, we won’t have to wait too long for official confirmation as Samsung is looking set to launch the new Galaxy S22 lineup at the start of 2022.
