Samsung Bespoke AI Washer and Dryer launch with SmartThings integration
Samsung has announced the global launch of its Bespoke AI Washer and Dryer. The company claims the products are its most sustainable, efficient, intelligent laundry devices. The Bespoke AI Washer uses AI Ecobubble technology to quickly turn detergent into bubbles, allowing it to be absorbed faster into the laundry. The tool can reduce energy usage by up to 70% while boosting dirt removal by 24% and providing better fabric care.
The AI Wash Cycle can also reduce wastage by detecting the weight and softness of the clothes in the drum and adjusting the water and detergent levels accordingly. The technology monitors the soil level of the laundry through the cycle, changing settings as necessary. A similar feature, Auto Dispense, automatically calculates the correct amount of detergent and softener for the wash, allowing you to fill the detergent tank once for around one month's worth of washing. The laundry machines have a maximum capacity of 11 kg (~24 lbs) and are available in various colors.
The Bespoke AI Dryer features AI Dry technology, monitoring the temperature and humidity of the laundry and optimizing the cycle. Both machines are part of the Samsung SmartThings ecosystem, allowing you to control the devices from your smartphone or other connected devices. You can pre-order the Samsung Bespoke AI Washer and Dryer in the US from the discounted price of US$2,608; the machines typically retail from US$3,398. In August, the smart laundry devices will launch in stores in Europe and the Middle East.
