The company name Muse might sound familiar to some. The company makes wearables and has just announced the Ring One 2.0. This new smart ring will be crowdfunded on Indiegogo, but there are no details regarding pricing thus far. That said, the announcement of the Ring One 2.0 names quite a few advanced features.
Blood pressure readings without a cuff
The smart ring primarily focuses on health features, the cuff-free blood pressure measurements are particularly advertised. It’s unclear how accurate these readings will be or if the feature will require calibration. Apple recently showed how difficult it is to accurately measure high blood pressure, since the high blood pressure alerts on the Apple Watch don’t work very well. However, the Ring One 2.0 reportedly plans to show actual values. The company also advertises AFib detection. Heart rate and oxygen saturation monitoring are also onboard, as are respiratory rate and skin temperature tracking.
Smart ring with NFC and premium features
The Ring One 2.0 can also be used for contactless payments via NFC, but the gadget can also unlock smart locks or compatible cars. Moreover, the wearable is water-resistant down to 100 meters, and the brand promotes a durable build quality thanks to titanium.
Meanwhile, the accompanying app offers AI-powered insights into sleep quality and other recorded metrics. This means the smart ring might offer more or less personalized suggestions. Either way, it seems like some features might be locked behind a paywall and require a subscription.
