Redmi Note 13R launches as cheap Android phone with Snapdragon 4 Gen 2
Redmi Note 13R is the latest addition to the company’s growing Note 13 lineup. This new Android phone, however, is a slightly stepped-up version of the Redmi 12, which was also rebranded as Poco M6 Pro, that Xiaomi launched last year. However, the good part is that the price tag is on the lower end, coming in at CNY 1,399 for the base variant (around $193).
As for the main highlights, the new affordable Android phone sports the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 under the hood. It’s the first 4 nm chip within the series, and it supports faster RAM and storage. On the Redmi Note 13R, however, the processor is paired with up to 12 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 512 GB of UFS 2.2 storage.
Other than that, the Note 13R equips a 6.79-inch LCD screen with up to 120 Hz refresh rate, 550 nits of peak brightness rating, and a resolution of 2460 x 1080 pixels. The display also has full DC dimming, 240 Hz touch sampling rate, and multiple TÜV Rheinland certifications.
A 5030 mAh battery powers the internals of the Android smartphone, and it has support for 33-watt fast charging. When it comes to the cameras, the new Redmi phone has a dual camera setup on the back. It consists of a 50 MP primary and a 2 MP macro. On the front, there’s an 8 MP selfie shooter.
Other highlights of the Redmi Note 13R include an IP53 rating, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, and HyperOS that’s likely based on Android 14. Xiaomi has yet to announce pricing and availability details for other markets. However, if you want an Android phone with a similar set of specs that’s already available globally, check out the Poco M6 Pro (512 GB curr. $235 on Amazon).
