RedMagic debuts new affordable power bank with built-in USB-C plug

RedMagic has officially unveiled a handful of new products in China, and while the new gaming phone, the 10 Air, is the main highlight, the company has introduced multiple accessories alongside it. Among them is the RedMagic DAO 5,000 mAh power bank.

One of the notable aspects of this new power bank is that it utilizes a 21700 battery, which gives it a capsule-like shape. Given that it utilizes a single cell, the battery capacity isn't enough to charge devices multiple times, but the design does make the portable charger travel-friendly.

Another design aspect of this new 5,000 mAh DAO power bank is that it has a built-in lanyard port, and RedMagic bundles a fast charging USB-C cable with it, which connects to the port and doubles as a handle for easy carrying. Speaking of which, there's a built-in USB-C plug with support for 22.5 W two-way fast charging (65 W Anker Nano curr. $39.99 on Amazon).

The new 5,000 mAh DAO power bank has another USB-C port, enabling it to power up two devices at the same time. RedMagic also highlights that the portable charger supports multiple protocols, including PD, FCP, SCP, and other major standards, so it should work with pretty much all devices. 

Among the other highlights are battery level indicators and a sleek "silver wing + transparent" outlook. The 5,000 mAh DAO power bank will be available in China in May 2025, and the first sale price will be CNY 129, about $18. After the promotional phase, it will cost CNY 149, around $20. RedMagic has yet to announce the pricing and availability details for the global market.
