Sony may be chartering Boeing 747 jumbo jets to deliver millions of PlayStation 5 consoles in time for Christmas, but stock issues remain. Hence, most people would probably be surprised to see a PlayStation 5 under their Christmas tree this year. For reference, Sony claims to have sold over 13.4 million PlayStation 5 consoles up to the end of FY2021 Q2.
Understandably, there are no rumours that Sony is preparing to release a PS5 Pro or PS5 Slim next year. Instead, Sony is tipped to announce new models in 2023, and possibly one that could deliver 8K gaming. In that vein, LetsGoDigital and Concept Creator have created concept renders of the PS5 Pro and PS5 Slim, embedded above and below.
Seemingly, these renders are based on both parties imagination than anything else. As far as we are aware, no CADs or schematics of either console have leaked so far. However, LetsGoDigital and Concept Creator have based both consoles on Sony's previous 'Pro' and 'Slim' consoles. Ultimately, the PS5 Pro in black resembles the original PS3, which could have been another source of inspiration.
While Sony is yet to release a black edition of the PS5 or the PS5 Digital Edition, the company has hinted that it is under consideration. Incidentally, Sony has now received the patent for PS5 faceplates, so it could bring different PS5 colours to the table through replacement parts.
