The Intel Arc Battlemage GPUs are expected to be revealed this year. Revising his previous specs leaks of the BMG G10, the flagship Battlemage GPU, RedGamingTech has now reported updated specifications for the board. The leaker has also revealed details of a lower-end Battlemage product with 40 Xe cores.

Intel Arc Battlemage, the successor to the contentious Arc Alchemist, is under active development. Per Intel, the Arc Battlemage GPUs featuring the Xe2-HPG architecture could be released before CES 2025 as about 30% of Team Blue’s engineers are developing software for the new boards (PCWorld via Wccftech). However, if the latest report from RedGamingTech (RGT) ends up being accurate, we may not get the Arc Battlemage GPUs that were initially rumored.

Flagship Arc Battlemage (BMG G10)

According to RGT, the flagship Arc Battlemage BMG G10 GPU which was previously reported to feature 56 Xe cores, a 256-bit wide bus, 16 GB of 18-20 Gbps GDDR6 VRAM, 112/116 MB of L2 cache, and 3 GHz clock speed, has undergone a revision. The leaker now alleges that the BMG G10 GPU will feature a reduced bus width of 192-bit, 12 GB of 20 Gbps VRAM, 8 MB of L2 cache, and increased clock frequency. The claim of increased clock frequency is quite interesting since we heard back in October that the Battlemage BMG G10 would have a 2.8 GHz boost frequency.

Moving on, RGT also mentions 512 MB of Adamantine Cache for the flagship Battlemage card. Intel’s Adamantine Cache, much like AMD’s 3D V-Cache, is a level 4 (L4) cache incorporated into the Base tile of a CPU package. Per a patent that was discovered in April of last year, the Meteor Lake CPUs support the Adamantine Cache, however, the Core Ultra series we have now doesn’t incorporate this L4 cache.

So, while we do know that the Adamantine Cache is real and Intel’s products support it, we are yet to see it implemented and the upcoming Battlemage BMG G10 could be our first introduction to the technology.

However, there is a possibility that the flagship Arc Battlemage won’t launch.

According to RGT, “there is a very good chance” that the Battlemage BMG G10 may be canned because of unsatisfactory profit margins. That said, we won’t know whether Intel will release the BMG G10 or not until there is some official correspondence from the company. So, take RGT’s report with caution.

Lower-end Arc Battlemage SKU

In addition to revealing the specifications of the flagship Battlemage variant, RGT also reports hardware details of a lower-end SKU. This variant could feature 40 Xe cores, a 192-bit wide bus, 18 MB of L2 without any Adamantine Cache, 12 GB of 20 Gbps VRAM, and PCIe Gen 5 x8. The GPU could end up being a 250 mm2 die which is considerably smaller than the Arc A580 (Available on Amazon) and the Arc A750 (Available on Amazon).

Finally, RGT also claims that Intel did have an 80 Xe Battlemage GPU in the works at one point but the product has been canceled.
