The PS Plus free games for August 2026 are now live, and this lineup has a relatively well-rated open-world game for both PlayStation 5 and 4. It's worth noting that the freebie line will be available until August 31, 2026, and this first batch is available to subscribers of all tiers.

A well-rated AAA game headlines the PS Plus August 2026 free game lineup

Dying Light 2: Stay Human is the headlining free game of this lineup. Released in 2022, it's a direct follow-up to the first entry of this open-world zombie survival series.

Compared to the first game, Dying Light 2 has smoother parkour mechanics, and the paraglider and grappling hook make traversing through the vertical urban environment fun. There's more focus on human combat, and the post-apocalyptic world is more lively than the first iteration.

Dying Light 2: Stay Human will be available for all PlayStation Plus subscribers on PS5 and PS4. Big Walk is the second free game for August 2026, and it's available for PlayStation 5 (available on Amazon). It's a colorful title with a focus on exploration, and there's support for co-op.

Sony has also included Signalis, but this freebie is only available for the PS4. This is a classic survival horror title that's set in a dystopian future. While it's an indie game, since its 2022 release, it has won multiple awards, and those who have played it praise the retro-futuristic visuals and the sound design.

Alongside these three free games, PS Plus subscribers of all tiers can get the  PlayStation Plus Pack for Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls. However, this in-game content will be available from August 06, 2026.
