The POCO C55 is on the verge of launching as Xiaomi looks to bring the Redmi 12C to other markets. Launching tomorrow, the POCO C55 will be available with the MediaTek Helio G85 chipset, as well as a 'leather-like stitch design', among other features.

POCO continues to tease the C55, the company's next entry-level smartphone and the second promoted by Hardik Pandya. Previously, POCO hinted that the C55 would be notable for its 'Speed and Swag'. However, the POCO C55 is merely a re-branded Redmi 12C, which relies on the measly MediaTek Helio G85 chipset and 3 GB, 4 GB or 6 GB of RAM.

Still, POCO is boasting of the C55's performance credentials. As the image below shows, POCO claims that the C55 scores more than 260,000 points in AnTuTu, contrasting the Helio G85 with the Unisoc T612 and Helio P35. Separately, POCO has confirmed that the C55 will be available in two colourways, both with a 'leather-like stitch design'. In short, the POCO C55 appears to be a direct copy of the Redmi 12C but with a wider camera housing. Thus, the device should also feature a 5,000 mAh battery, a 50 MP primary camera and a 6.71-inch IPS display.

Subsequently, POCO has confirmed that the C55 will launch tomorrow on February 21. So far, POCO has only outlined an Indian launch, which commences at 12:00 IST (06:30 UTC). Xiaomi may make the POCO C55 an Indian exclusive, if past launches are anything to go by, with the Redmi 12C likely serving all other markets. Pricing has not surfaced yet, but the Redmi 12C is expected to start at €149 in Europe with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage.
