Oppo Bubble is perhaps one of the most unusual smartphone gadgets on the market, as Oppo packs a round AMOLED touchscreen, a battery and magnets into a 27 gram housing, thus adding a selfie display to smartphones.

Smartphones with a second display on the back are still a rarity. Oppo is now turning the second display into an optional accessory product, as Oppo Bubble wraps a round AMOLED touchscreen in a 7 millimeter thin, 27.5 gram lightweight body.

The display can be magnetically attached to Qi2-compatible smartphones such as the Apple iPhone 17. However, the most practical feature only works when Oppo Bubble is used with a compatible Oppo smartphone. With this combination, it is possible to use the display in conjunction with a camera app to take selfies with the main camera or the ultra-wide-angle camera

Alternatively, Oppo Bubble can also display videos or photos. The gadget is designed to be a decorative pendant that can be attached to a backpack or key ring using the supplied case. Oppo does not comment on the resolution and brightness of the display or the battery life provided by the 550 mAh battery. Officially, Oppo Bubble is only compatible with selected smartphone series, including Reno14, Reno15, Reno16 as well as Oppo Find X8 and Find X9 including Find X9 Pro and Find X9 Ultra. An app for use with the smartphone of another manufacturer is apparently not currently planned.

Pricing and availability

Oppo Bubble is available in China for CNY 499 ($73). Oppo has not yet confirmed whether or at what price the gadget will be launched in the rest of the world.
