SmallTV-Ultra: Kompaktes und sehr günstiges Display
Very cheap and somewhat of an eye-catcher: A new smart display costs well under $10 and can show the current weather as well as photos and animations. The weather data can be updated thanks to built-in WiFi.

AliExpress currently has a more or less smart display on sale for a very low price. By "more or less smart", we mean that unlike an ESP32-based display, this screen cannot be fully programmed, so the types of content that can be shown are rather limited. That being said, the GeekMagic SmallTV-Ultra is primarily designed as a weather station.

The corresponding data is pulled from the internet, 300,000 cities are available. For this, the display has to be connected to a network via WiFi. Without pointing specifically at this product, users should consider whether it makes sense to move smart home devices and systems such as this display to a separate, isolated WiFi network for security reasons. It can show not only weather data but also up to 30 photos as a photo album or an animation.

This gadget measures 1.8 x 1.4 x 1.6 inches and is therefore quite compact, while the display measures 1.1 x 1.1 inches. That would correspond to a screen diagonal of 1.1 inches. The GeekMagic SmallTV-Ultra's display is about the size of a smartwatch display, specifically that of a smartwatch with a smaller screen. There is no built-in battery, with power supplied via USB instead. The white version is currently priced at just $7.77 with free shipping for US-based shoppers. Additional shipping costs and/or import fees may apply depending on the buyer's location.
