One-Netbook has started selling the OneXGPU Lite on its global OneXPlayer website after releasing the device earlier this month in China. Unfortunately, the company's new eGPU cost significantly more globally than in China.
To recap, the OneXGPU Lite centres around the AMD Radeon RX 7600M XT found in the OneXGPU and other eGPU solutions released in late 2023 and early 2024. As a result, the OneXGPU Lite will perform worse than the OneXGPU 2, which contains the newer Radeon RX 7800M (curr. $1,059 on Amazon).
However, the OneXGPU Lite has a few advantages in its corner. For one, One-Netbook's latest eGPU is comparably small at 144 x 116 x 34.5 mm and 493.5 g. For context, the OneXGPU comes in at 196 x 120 x 32 mm and 869 g. Meanwhile, the OneXGPU 2 is even larger at 229 x 175 x 43 mm and 1.59 kg.
Additionally, the OneXGPU Lite offers 80 Gbps transfer speeds via Thunderbolt 5 and USB4 v2. While a higher peak bandwidth than OCuLink that the OneXGPU Lite also supports, Thunderbolt 5 only provides PCIe 4.0 x4 pass-through. Therefore, the OneXGPU Lite is effectively limited to 64 Gbps peak bandwidth regardless of its connection method.
Currently, the new eGPU can be picked up with free accessories for $699, discounted from an alleged $799 MSRP. At the time of publication, One-Netbook hopes to begin shipping OneXGPU Lite orders from October 10 onwards globally. Please see the OneXPlayer store for more details.
