OnePlus, the original "flagship-killer", could exit Europe and North America markets by April.
Another exclusive report sounds the alarm: OnePlus to leave the EU and North America markets by April 2026 to focus on the Chinese and Indian markets. Driven by rising costs and strategic consolidation under Oppo, the move marks a potential end to the brand's international flagship presence.

After initial rumors on the social media platform X, we are now finding out that OnePlus, one of the most well-known Chinese phone-makers (and the original "Flagship-killer"), is planning to pull out of global smartphone markets as early as April 2026 - that is according to internal sources cited by 9to5Google.

The shift suggests a strategic pivot toward China and the budget-tier Indian market, potentially ending the brand's presence in large portions of Europe, North America and perhaps the UK.

The exclusive report follows the departure of OnePlus India CEO Robin Liu, who has returned to China. This leadership change coincides with increasing integration between OnePlus and its parent company, Oppo. Since 2021, OnePlus has operated as an Oppo sub-brand, a transition marked by the departure of co-founder Carl Pei (who is now doing Nothing) and the absorption of key departments.

Analysts point to rising component costs and global memory shortages as primary reasons for this major step. It’s safe to assume that the end of the Hasselblad camera partnership signals a lack of priority of the OnePlus brand internationally - while the Hasselblad logo can still be found on Oppo flagships (the new Oppo Find X9 Ultra is launching globally soon).

While OnePlus has previously committed to maintaining after-sales support and software updates for existing users, a full withdrawal would leave the future of its global community in doubt. For now, the company maintains that "business continuity" remains the priority in India.

As it stands, OnePlus phones are still available to buy in Europe, the UK, and North America. OnePlus is yet to comment on the shutdown rumors.
