OnePlus 16 posts stronger benchmark score ahead of imminent launch

OnePlus has been teasing its new flagship phone for a while now, and recently, the company has confirmed a couple of key elements of the device. One of them is the SoC, and the OnePlus 16 is set to launch with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6.
This SoC would make it a direct rival to the recently released Xiaomi 18 Pro Max, Honor Magic 9 Pro Max, and iQOO 16. A few days ago, the OnePlus 16 was even spotted on AnTuTu's database, with an overall score of 5,384,433 points.
Now, the company reveals that the OnePlus 16 can achieve a better benchmark score. Per the recently shared teaser, the phone can reach 5,633,288 points on AnTuTu, which is a much better score than the previous one.
Alongside sharing this better AnTuTu benchmark score, the company has highlighted the "Wind Chaser Gaming Kernel" that the OnePlus 16 features. It's said to bring native 185FPS support, making the compatible games take advantage of the 185Hz refresh rate support of the phone. Of course, it's worth noting that the native refresh rate of the phone's display is 165Hz.
Moreover, the "Wind Chaser Gaming Core" is touted to offer a gaming experience similar to DLSS4 on PC. It's also said to reduce latency, improve frame rates, and lower screen tearing.
The company further highlights the Tri-core setup of the OnePlus 13. There are three dedicated chipsets for "better image quality," faster network, and enhanced touch response.
At launch, OnePlus will offer a good range of compatible accessories, including a magnetic active cooler and a handheld attachment similar to the one available for the Ace 6 Ultra. More official details about the phone are expected to emerge before the October 12, 2026, launch date.
