OPPO's Reno8 series of premium mid-range Android smartphones were rumored to launch with camera humps more like those of OnePlus (a subsidiary of their own OEM) than those of their Reno7 predecessors. Now, that line of speculation is back as this line of mobile devices reportedly gears up to produce yet another new generation.
A photo posted to Weibo of a smartphone with a black rear panel could easily be mistaken for a OnePlus 10 Pro, as it even has a ring flash in the same position as this 2022 Hasselblad-branded flagship in its square, off-centre camera hump containing 3 fairly equally-sized lenses.
However, this new image is allegedly attributed to the Reno9 series instead. The leak, posted by the tipster Jinan Digital yet apparently based on source material from Bald Panda, suggests that the upcoming device will have triple rear cameras.
It is also now depicted as having a display with a centered punch-hole selfie camera, whereas those of the Reno8 series are corner-mounted. The Reno9 series is also currently believed to pass on SoC or main rear camera upgrades in order to launch as OPPO's inaugural UFCS devices instead.
