We recently reported that Nvidia is expected to unveil the RTX 50 Super series in the coming months with reduced prices and more VRAM. However, due to the reportedly more favorable price-performance of the RTX 50 Super cards, it is likely that demand will be strong. So, you might not be able to easily get your hands on something like an RTX 5080 Super. However, if you are in Europe, you might not want to wait for the RTX 50 Super GPUs, as Nvidia has officially cut prices of three RTX 50 series cards for the European market.
The cards in question are the RTX 5090, the RTX 5080, and the RTX 5070. While all GPUs are now at least 9% cheaper than before, the RTX 5090 has seen the biggest price drop, as it seemingly now stands at EUR 2,099 vs EUR 2,320 before, a 9.9% price drop. The RTX 5080 and the RTX 5070 come in at EUR 1,059 (-9.4%) and EUR 589 (-9.2%), respectively. Prices of other RTX 50 cards, like the RTX 5070 Ti and the RTX 5060 Ti, remain unchanged.
While Nvidia hasn’t revealed the official reason for this price adjustment, VideoCardz posits that the new prices could be due to the positive performance of the EUR against the USD. The Euro has gained around 10% in value in the last six months, which could be the primary reason for Nvidia reducing the prices of RTX 50 boards.
That said, Nvidia could potentially have adjusted the prices to move more inventory to make room for the upcoming RTX 50 Super series. The early RTX 50 series drought now seems to be mostly over, as supply has improved quite a bit. Even the highly sought-after RTX 5090, which was next-to-impossible to find at or close to the MSRP six months ago, is widely available on retailers like Amazon. The situation is better for cards like the RTX 5070 and the RTX 5060 Ti, which can readily be found at the official MSRPs.
Whatever the true reason for the latest RTX 50 price drop, it is good news for European gamers, as they routinely have to pay much more than their US counterparts for PC components.
