Nintendo presents Switch OLED Special Edition with Splatoon 3 visuals
Nintendo has announced a new version of the Switch. While a Switch Pro or an equivalent, it could appeal to fans of the Splatoon series. Due to be released on August 26, the OLED Model Splatoon 3 Edition only differs from the regular OLED Model with a custom design. As with other Special Edition refreshes, Nintendo has customised the Joy-Cons and the dock, as well as the console itself.
Incidentally, Splatoon 3 will not arrive until September 9. Hence, Nintendo will start shipping the OLED Model Splatoon 3 Edition in time for the game's release. Fundamentally, existing Switch OLED owners will not miss out on anything, or than a more eye-catching design. As the video below shows, Nintendo has applied a subtle livery to the Switch OLED, with numerous icons spanning the console's rear panel.

Meanwhile, Nintendo has been more adventurous with the Joy-Cons and dock. For some reason, Nintendo has not included a customised Joy-Con Grip. Still, the Splatoon 3-themed Joy-Cons stand out, as does the white dock, on top of which Nintendo has included a splodge of yellow paint.
Also, there is a Splatoon 3-themed Pro Controller, as well as a corresponding carry case. Nintendo has not confirmed how much the OLED Model Splatoon 3 Edition costs yet, but special edition consoles tend to price match the standard console.
