Deal | Nintendo Switch OLED gets rare discount in limited-time spring sale

While there are a good number of handheld gaming consoles out on the market, Nintendo Switch has held up pretty well among its competitors. It has a growing library of games with a good number of titles that are exclusively available on the handheld. What's more important is that the company is still offering full support, which is a good thing to see in something that launched in 2017.

The gaming console did see a refresh in 2021, the Nintendo Switch OLED. For many, the upgrade to the screen will result in a much better gaming experience. Of course, it's not just the screen that the company has updated with this refresh. The 2021 model gets more internal storage and better speakers too.

These upgrades have also bumped up the price tag of the gaming handheld. Nintendo launched the Switch OLED at $349.99, and the regular price has stayed the same ever since. But thanks to Walmart's spring sale, you can get the console for $279, which is a generous $70 discount.

However, note that the Nintendo Switch OLED that's on sale is an imported model. It comes from Japan, which means you might get an AC adapter that won't fit in your wall outlet. But that's an easy fix, as all you will likely need is a Type A to Type B wall adapter (one at Amazon is curr. $6.99).

Besides that, both the Japanese and US versions of the handheld gaming console offer the same experience. So, it's not like you will be missing out on anything by getting an imported Switch OLED. However, if you want a US model instead, check out this $30 discounted deal on Woot.
