Nics Tek has unveiled its Hesper64(100) compact keyboard with dual-action keys, which allow gamers to access secondary functions quickly without using the SHIFT/CTRL/ALT/FN keys. The keyboard has an MSRP of $239, and a Kickstarter pre-launch price of $169 can be reserved for $1 here.
The keyboard has a total of 64 low-profile keys with mechanical switches, and some of these keys are dual-action keys. The keyboard gains 100-key functionality when these unique keys are used. The upper part of these dual-action keys are designed with different travel depths versus the lower part to prevent mistyping. All of the keys are hot swappable and support N-key rollover.
Additional functionality is provided through QMK/VIA support, which enables full software customization of the key functions with advanced macro and shortcut programming.
A brass mode button switches the keyboard between wired, 2.4 GHz wireless, and Bluetooth 5.3 wireless modes. The Bluetooth mode supports pairing with up to three devices at once.
The case top is made from anodized CNC aluminum alloy, while the bottom is made from ABS plastic. A brass logo button switches the unit on or off, including the floating RGB light strip lighting the perimeter of the base. The Hesper64(100) will be available in Sand Beige and Misty Night colors.
