Deal | New sub-$400 Smart Portable Power station with compact form-factor makes debut

Teaser
BLUETTI touts its latest portable generator as the ideal camping (or blackout) companion due to its compact size, ability to charge quickly using solar panels and up-to-date LiFePO4 (LFP) batteries. The new, up-to-700W addition to the AC series has launched as part of the OEM's Amazon Prime Day Deals event, which yields special offers on the new power station's larger siblings, albeit with some caveats.

BLUETTI has expanded its line of portable power stations with a new variant that fits into the 700 watt (W) output category. The AC50B also has a new capacity rating of 448 watt-hours (Wh), which gives it a smaller footprint than most of its predecessors.

Accordingly, BLUETTI asserts that the AC50B is ideal for backup power on the go, for more mobile devices such as laptops and smart lamps, or both, and can recharge itself from 0 to 100% in as little as 80 minutes.

It can do so via either DC or up to 120W of solar power. Then again the AC50B's handle is set into 1 of its corners, which might make carrying it more awkward. In addition, its dual USB-C ports supply up to 65W, whereas those of the comparable Jackery Explorer 880 Pro are rated for up to 100W.

On the other hand, the new BLUETTI alternative is much cheaper at an early bird price of as little as $294 on Amazon, albeit with a Prime membership and the limited-time code AC50B5OFF.

BLUETTI is promoting the AC50B's launch as part of its ongoing Amazon Prime Day Deals preview, which currently offers other portable generators such as the AC200L at $700 off its typical listed price.

Alternatively, the AC500 bundled with one of its B300S modular batteries at a discount of $1,700 - however, it should be noted that one also requires a Prime membership to avail of either deal.
