New fanless mini PC arrives with up to 8-core Intel CPU and plenty of ports

Aaeon is a pretty well-known entity in the realm of edge computing and industrial mini PCs. We have covered several of their offerings in the past, and it appears that we are about to do so yet again. The latest Intelli TWL01 Edge mini PC sports a fanless design, and is powered by Intel's Twin Lake family of CPUs.
TWL01: Fanless mini PC with up to 8-core CPUs
The TWL01 Edge mini PC can be equipped with up to an Intel Core 3 N355 CPU with eight cores and eight threads. Consisting exclusively of Gracemont E-cores, the system's multithreaded performance should be in the same league as an AMD Ryzen 7 4700U based on Geekbench results. In simpler terms, most moderately intensive workloads should run just fine on the system.
Other CPU options are also available, and have been detailed below:
- Intel Processor N250: 4-core, 4-thread setup, the N355 is roughly 72% faster
- Intel Processor N150: 4-core, 4-thread setup, the N355 is roughly 70% faster
- Intel Processor N97: 4-core, 4-thread setup, the N355 is roughly 51% faster.
At just 15.2 x 12.4 x 3.9 cm or roughly 6 x 5 x 1.5 inches, the Intelli TWL01 Edge mini PC is extremely compact, and simply lacks room for discrete graphics. The integrated iGPUs will have to do all the heavy lifting, and considering the target use cases, should do just fine. Up to 16 GB of LPDDR5 soldered memory is offered, and storage requirements are handled by up to 128 GB of eMMC storage. An additional M.2 2280 slot is also present for storage expansion.

The I/O on offer is pretty decent, sporting the following ports:
- Dual HDMI 2.0b
- Four USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A
- Dual 1G Ethernet
- 10-pin GPIO
- Audio in, audio out
- RS-232/422/485 COM port
Wireless requirements can be taken care of by using the mini PC's M.2 2230 slot to install a third-party module.
Pricing and availability
Pricing and availability details are unclear, which is to be expected from an industrial mini PC. For further enquiries, we encourage our readers to reach out to Aaeon directly.
That said, the mini PC is clearly not targeted for typical consumers, making something like the Acemagic V1 (currently $309 on Amazon) a decent choice for daily tasks that are not too demanding.
