New Halo mainline campaign in the making, introducing new advanced race

The Halo franchise is returning in full swing with remakes of old titles. Halo: Campaign Evolved is the upcoming remake of the Halo: Combat Evolved campaign, and there are reports of remakes for Halo 2 and Halo 3 as well. Now, a new leak has hinted at a mainline sequel that will take place following the events of Halo Infinite, and introduce a new race, but also stay away from an iconic one.
The information comes from Rebs Gaming, an insider who has been sharing leaks about the franchise for quite some time. In the video, he cites a new job listing for Narrative Design Director to work on ‘Halo Next’ at Halo Studios. The title for the game is likely tentative and an internal project codename for the sequel to Halo Infinite.
“We are looking for a Narrative Design Director to help define and deliver the narrative experience for Halo Next,” says the job overview. A couple of other key responsibilities are “Ensure the campaign delivers a complete and emotionally satisfying story that is accessible to new players and meaningful to longtime fans,” and “Work with Franchise Creative leadership to ensure Halo Next aligns with long-term franchise direction and canon.”
These suggest the next Halo game will pick up the story where Halo Infinite left off. As for the story itself, Rebs Gaming cites Joe Staten, Writer and Creative Director for the Halo franchise, who told 343 Industries that he wants to bring in new elements, including the advanced race called ‘The Endless.’ There have been mentions of this race in Halo Infinite and the novels, but it looks like they will be the primary antagonist in Halo Next.
Furthermore, Staten also apparently said that while he loves The Flood, it will not make a return for the next Halo campaign. But it may come back for a future instalment. For now, that's all the information available on Halo Next.
