Apple may have just announced the MacBook Pro 14 and MacBook Pro 16, but Jon Prosser has already turned his attention to next year's MacBook Air. The device is believed to pack an Apple M2 SoC and a 13-inch notched display in an impressively thin chassis.

Jon Prosser and Ian Zelbo have shared new renders of the next MacBook Air, thought to arrive in early 2022. Reputedly, Apple plans to bring a notched display to its cheaper laptop, a style it revealed this week with the MacBook Pro 14 and MacBook Pro 16. Supposedly, Apple will adopt white bezels for the MacBook Air, a colour that it has not used since the era of polycarbonate MacBooks.

Unfortunately, the sizeable chin remains, although the top and side bezels look thinner than on most conventional laptops. Additionally, Prosser and Zelbo allege that the MacBook Air will feature MagSafe 3, dual Thunderbolt 4 and 3.5 mm headphone jack connections.

Surprisingly, the proposed design barely looks thick enough for a headphone jack, let alone a full-sized keyboard. However, Zelbo insists that he has seen a prototype on which he and Prosser have based their renders. The MacBook Air is expected to launch with the Apple M2, a new architecture for Apple Silicon. The 13-inch device should debut in multiple colours too, as shown below.
